About Me

ninsthewriter: I earned a BS from Ithaca College, an MA from Adelphi University and taught Physical Education and coached sports on Long Island before a twenty-year sojourn to Italy. I speak Italian and Spanish. Upon returning to the States, earned an BA in English and an MFA on Creative Writing from FIU. I was an adjunct professor at St. Thomas University in Miami Gardens, FL for one year. My debut poetry collection, Cooking Lessons, was published in 2007 by Rock Press. A second collection, Coffeehouse Meditations, was published in 2010 by Kitsune Books. My third collection, She Wouldn't Sing at My Wedding, a narrative elegy for my Mom, was published in 2013 by Bridle Path Press. My fourth collection, Faraway Confections is forthcoming from Kelsay Books. A debut short story collection, The Other Side of the Gates, is forthcoming from Bridle Path Press. My poetry chapbook, A Prayer in a Summer of Grace, is forthcoming from flutter Press.
